Emanuele Crotti

Emanuele Crotti’s early passion for Greek mythology, introduced him to the timeless themes of metamorphosis and storytelling. His academic journey began with a degree in Semiotics of Arts, followed by studies in theater direction at Scuola Civica P. Grassi, where he was mentored by renowned figures such as Kuniaki Ida, Maria Consagra, and Gabriele Vacis. These experiences taught him the nuances of action, presence, and silence on stage. For over a decade, Crotti thrived in the world of theater, working as an actor, set designer, and director with prestigious companies like Compagnia Paolo Rossi, Babygang, and Eco di Fondo. Performing at large venues such as Teatro Piccolo di Milano and Teatro Stabile di Torino, he was inspired to dream on a grand scale, hile smaller, now-vanished theaters instilled in him the resilience to continue no matter the circumstances.

In 2008, Crotti moved to Berlin, where he shifted his focus from the stage to visual arts. His artistic practice flourished, first at ECC (Weissensee) and later at the renowned Bethanien Kunstquartier in Kreuzberg. His works have been exhibited internationally, from Berlin to the USA, including Columbia University in New York. Crotti’s travels across Asia, particularly in China and Japan, deepened his understanding of the intersection between Western intellectual traditions and Eastern spirituality. Through these diverse experiences, one guiding principle remains at the heart of his work:

“Whatever form it takes, Art is all about enchanting Time.”

Navot Miller

Navot Miller’s work focuses on intimate interactions and on the queer aspects of banal, uneventful encounters. Throughout his life, Miller has been fascinated by visuals and sound as a way of expressing ideas and exploring topics such as sexuality, religion and desire. Using the practice of opposite and contrasting colors as a form of painting and the aesthetic of collaging short videos, Miller creates montages of scenes into paper, canvas and videos while juxtaposing tragedy and positivity. Primarily working with oil and water based paint, he engages with flatness as a way to create senses of still drama and voyeurism in his works. He pays close attention to the figurative form of objects he considers as a muse and to the sense of space curated by multiple layers collaged together.

Navot Miller (b. 1991, Israel) lives and works in Berlin. He received his BFA from Weissensee Art School, Berlin.
